-1 cup (shelled) hemp seeds
-3 cups (filtered) water
-1 teaspoon of coconut oil (optional)
-Sweetener to taste (honey, coconut flour
-sugar or a pinch of stevia)
-A large pinch Celtic salt
Add the water, hemp seeds, sweetener and a large pinch of Celtic salt into the blender.
The salt serves not only as a flavor enhancer, but is also healthy because of the minerals.
Do not use refined salt. Blend for at least 1 or 2 minutes until fully liquified.
If you use whole hempseeds strain the milk through a milk bag (You can find
a milk bag online or at health food stores. You can also use woven veggie storage bags).
Discard the hemp fibers from the bag.
Now you can either pour the milk into a container to chill/store
or if you don't mind that it's not ice cold, you can use it now!
Hemp milk Variations:
-Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla
-Add 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
-Add 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
-Add 1/2 teaspoon of spice such as cinnamon, cardamom or nutmeg
-Add dried or fresh fruit
Freeze leftover milk in ice cube trays for use later.
Don't waste that leftover milk. Freeze it in ice cube trays, and them empty
into containers or zip-lock freezer bags for use later in smoothies, soups, and other recipes.
